Happy Birthday Mr. Nimoy!

March is a magnificent month for TOS birthdays. Today, Mr. Nimoy has turned 78 years old. He is obviously known and loved most for his phantasmagorically logical portrayal of the ineffable Mr. Spock on Star Trek. Now, Vulcans have been known to live for hundreds of years, but I don’t know if we can expect the same from Nimoy (after all, he is only half human).  Either way,  Nimoy has permanently entered into our cultural mythos, and for that, we should celebrate!

I’ll share with y’all a couple of my favorite moments from Nimoy’s illustrious career.

The first is from the episode “The Way to Eden“, where Spock jams with a bunch of dirty hippies. I think we can agree that Mr. Spock is defintely not ‘Herbert‘.

Next up, we have the beginning (and end) of Nimoy’s career as a singer. You’ll see why in under two minutes. Perhaps it’s for the best.

Finally, I’ll leave you with Nimoy’s own words. Among his many accomplishments, he is also a poet and photographer. I hope y’all will check out his website .

Live Long and Prosper, Mr. Nimoy!
