A Gaythering Storm

The National Council for Marriage Equality, a ‘family values’ type of organization in the United States, recently released a viral ad on the internet. Before I mock it mercilessly, I’ll let you see it for yourself:

If you sat through all that garbage without even cracking a smile, I apologize. I don’t really even think that the deliberate, manipulative lies are worth going into, but it’s suffice to say they are grasping at straws with this melodramatic tripe. With the recent successes in New York and Iowa, these bigots are probably feeling like the segregationists did in the fifties, which does much to explain the reasoning behind that video. Hell, even Vermont pushed through it’s legislature despite a Governor raring to overturn his citizen’s human rights.

Now, onto the mocking. The lovely bastion of liberal thinking in Hollywood has come up with this counter-response to this ‘PSA’.

Vengance is a dish best served with satire. Also, be sure to check out the Colbert Reports April 16 show, which contains another eviscerating parody. Ain’t it nice to be on the funny and right side every once in a while?
